Where I’m From…Symone (4th grade)

10 Nov

Where I’m from is neither here or there.

Where I’m from is the back of the corner where nobody sees.

Where I’ m from is the deep dark woods where nobody dare go.

Where I’m from is a star in the sky that everyone looks up and sees.

Where I’m from I’m in the cart somebody left behind.

Where I’m from I’m the flower in the garden that nobody picks.

Where I’m from I’m past the rolling hills, behind the shining sea and that’s where you will find me.

Where I’m from I’m from that tree – I’m the acorn that never falls.

Where I’m from I’m in the tree.

I’m in the middle – that’s where I like to be.

I’m from laughs and jokes, countrysides, warm hearts, smelly farms and girl scouts.

I’m from dancing, having good times, weird foods, and messing around.

I’m from learning, playing games, from travelling far away, from relatives being teachers and from love to everyone.

I’m from the Girl Scout Town, the peaches growing from the green trees, Alton Brown the Famous Chef, the amazing aquarium, the warm, sandy beaches.

I’m from the warm pajamas, the laughs of friends, the pop from the warm, buttery popcorn, the snugglie bed.

I’m from the crispy, warm, greasy bacon, the eggs in the frying pan, the buttery toast, the fruity crepes, the oaty, honey-coated cereal.

I’m from the math lessons, the noisy cafeteria, the cursive lessons, the history about Indians, the bell rings, the crowded bus.

I’m from the chocolate that melts in your mouth.

I’m from the cat that scratched you and drew the tiniest drop of blood.

I’m from the bed you want to stay in because you don’t want to go to school.

I’m from the fresh-baked cookies with gooey chocolate chips.
